SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Still riding high on the success of its first brick-and-mortar store on Melrose, Nasty Gal is opening the doors to a second location at noon tomorrow, March 27, on Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade. The store is located at 1254 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA, 90401.
Consistent with its Melrose counterpart, Nasty Gal Santa Monica is designed by renowned architect Rafael de Cardenas, who brings with him a signature post-'80s aesthetic infused with Art Deco and Neo-modernist elements.
Within its sprawling 6,500 sq ft of custom-designed retail space, the store boasts an expansive full-service shoe salon and, similar to its Melrose store, two-way mirrored fitting rooms that push the boundaries of voyeurism. Nasty Gal's provocative femininity is incorporated into every aspect of the storefront and interior design: From its vivid red and blush color palette to industrial-chic fixtures and retro neon signage.
"We are proud to introduce an entirely new format for Nasty Gal retail. Our Santa Monica store offers a broader range of styles as well as focused destination areas throughout. The team is psyched to meet our local fans and introduce them to the Nasty Gal tribe. What we are doing here is a movement," says CEO Sheree Waterson.
A team of in-the-know style experts, known as the 'Nasty Gal Muses,' will work hand-in-hand with customers to offer a full-service personal shopping experience.
In true Nasty Gal fashion, the assortment will range from high to low, accessible to aspirational, with new styles hitting stores each week. Racks of rare vintage finds from iconic designers including Moschino and Chanel will be juxtaposed alongside an unparalleled selection of international and local designers.
If Melrose is Nasty Gal's intimate boutique, Santa Monica is an addictive style emporium. When the customer steps from the promenade into the space, she'll immediately become a part of Nasty Gal's ever-expanding galaxy of clothing, intimates, swim, footwear, and accessories.
"I am so lucky to be in constant conversation with our girl – she's helping us get this right and I am listening. We plan to apply this knowledge to what will eventually be a dominating retail presence with stores nationwide," says founder and executive chairman Sophia Amoruso.
Amoruso will be cutting the inaugural ribbon at noon on Friday, mingling with customers, and taking photos with Nasty Gal's social media team. She will be signing copies of her bestselling book, #GIRLBOSS from 2pm-4pm on Friday and 12pm-2pm on Saturday.
Nasty Gal Santa Monica will be open from 12pm-12am on Friday, March 27, 10am-11pm on Saturday, March 28, and 11am-9pm on Sunday, March 29. The store is located at 1254 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA, 90401. More information can be found at www.nastygal.com/stores.
