Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and Paradise Island Tourism Development Association partner to donate $10,000 to Bahamas Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund
After Escaping Hurricane Joaquin's Impact, Organizations Support Relief Efforts
NASSAU, Bahamas, Oct. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- While Nassau Paradise Island was spared a direct impact from Hurricane Joaquin, The Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and Paradise Island Tourism Development Association have partnered to help those who suffered damage from the storm by donating a total of $10,000 to the Bahamas Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.
Each organization will donate $5,000 to the Bahamas Red Cross to help secure needed supplies for the Out Islands and those most affected by Hurricane Joaquin. The Nassau/Paradise Island region suffered no damage from the storm.
"We were very fortunate to escape a direct hit from the storm in Nassau and Paradise Island, so our thoughts are with our neighbors in their time of need," said George Myers, Chairman of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board. "We support the efforts of the Bahamas Red Cross and the relief organizations seeking to help those affected by the hurricane."
