NASP Announces 2014 EXPO at Tampa's State-of-the-Art Medical Center
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) hosts its 2014 spring meeting at the University of South Florida's Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS), a state-of-the-art facility in downtown Tampa. The meeting is scheduled for March 31 - April 4.
NASP's spring meeting, the 2014 Specialty Pharmacy EXPO, brings together leaders and decision makers from the Specialty Pharmacy industry to discuss the latest issues and trends. It offers valuable networking opportunities with colleagues and exhibitors as well as educational sessions utilizing CAMLS' virtual pharmacy and simulation-based meeting environments to host clinical and reimbursement workshops and patient interaction labs demonstrating best practices and innovative collaborative care models.
"CAMLS is a modern, high-tech facility that allows NASP to incorporate cutting-edge simulation technology into our educational content," Gary M. Cohen, BSPharm, RPh, CSP, NASP CEO, said. "This meeting will push the boundary of what attendees expect from a conference, giving them an interactive and memorable educational experience."
The NASP EXPO features more than 75 hours of accredited specialty pharmacy, nursing and managed care educational tracks, coupled with real world, hands-on-training scenarios (labs) and specialty pharmacy reimbursement labs. The expo will also feature NASP's unique exhibit exchange where manufacturers, payers and all stakeholders can meet with specialty pharmacy providers.
"Our goal is to collaborate with leaders, organizations and innovators in healthcare to empower and support our industry as it implements solutions that elevate the quality of care provided to the patients we serve," Cohen said. "This is a goal we share with CAMLS and we are excited to partner with them to present the NASP EXPO at this exciting new venue."
The CAMLS facility includes 90,000 square feet of meeting space that integrates simulation technology to create a unique learning and networking environment. This technology gives NASP attendees the opportunity to become fully engaged with the programming using virtual pharmacy settings and simulated site-of-care settings for interactive training in specialty therapeutic areas.
