NASA's SEWP V Names Dynamic Computer Corporation as Prime Contractor
Farmington Hills-based IT Supplier Is Only Michigan Company to Win SEWP V Award
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamic Computer Corporation (www.dcc-online.com) of Farmington Hills, Mich. has been selected as a Prime Contractor to U.S. federal and defense agencies under SEWP V (www.sewp.nasa.gov), the government-wide acquisition contract (GWAC) managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA; www.nasa.gov).
Dynamic is a value-added reseller of hardware and software products and solutions from over 500 technology partners. It is the only Michigan company named to the SEWP V contract.
SEWP stands for Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement. As with the four previous NASA-managed SEWP contracts, SEWP V was authorized by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). SEWP V helps federal contracting officers and defense procurement officers simplify and speed the acquisition of information technology products and services required for their agencies' programs.
NASA's original SEWP contract was awarded in 1993. It was the first GWAC in the Federal Acquisition arena. Today SEWP V offers over 5 million IT products from more than 4,500 manufacturers. Just less than 150 SEWP V contractors supply these products.
Dynamic began responding to federal agencies' requests for quotations through SEWP V on May 1. So far the company has received as many as 100 SEWP V RFQs per day.
"We're pleased and honored to serve our government through SEWP V," said Farida Ali, Dynamic's president and CEO. "It's exciting to be able to continue helping federal agencies manage risk and ensure high standards of performance in the IT supply chain."
Dynamic became a NASA SEWP contractor for the first time with SEWP V – yet the company is hardly new to government contracting. The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA; www.gsa.gov) awarded GSA Contract No. GS-35F-175AA to Dynamic under Schedule 70. The company also won an initial task order to provide hardware, software, and services through Seaport-e, the U.S. Navy's electronic platform for acquiring IT support.
Per Ali, Dynamic is an especially strategic supplier for federal scientific and engineering programs with complex IT needs. "The IT in these programs is always evolving," she said. "Dynamic can help an agency manage technological change throughout the program's lifecycle. They can control IT costs without risking supply chain quality."
Ali further noted that Dynamic's quality management processes have received ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications. The company's experience in implementing secure IT solutions, she said, helps prevent leaks in a federal agency's locked-down systems.
Dynamic Computer Corporation has been a trusted IT solutions provider to commercial, government, and nonprofit organizations since 1979. The minority-owned company has been certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB). More information can be found at www.dcc-online.com.
