The Sunday Experiment is a free afternoon for children of all ages and their families to discover NASA Goddard's exciting missions.
This May edition of Sunday Experiment will uncover the world of thermal coating and contamination engineering. Several thermal coatings will be on display including a newly developed coating that will help keep lunar or Martian dust off the surface of sensitive hardware. Discover the importance of keeping satellites clean and the different methods engineers use to protect satellites from harmful contaminants before they are launched into space.
Children can engage in hands-on activities showcasing Goddard's world-renowned science and engineering research and technological developments. Families will leave inspired by the activities, wowed by the scientists and engineers, and excited about Goddard's revolutionary research and technology. The Visitor Center's mesmerizing "Science on a Sphere" explores the cosmos and Goddard's cutting edge science and research. Sunday Experiment celebrates all things science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and spotlights major science missions managed by NASA Goddard. Sunday Experiment is held the third Sunday of each month.
