GREENBELT, Md., Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA has awarded a contract to Utah State University Research Foundation, Space Dynamics Laboratory of North Logan, Utah, to provide the design, development, fabrication, assembly, acceptance testing and delivery of the Engineering Test Unit and Flight Units of the Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) Short Wave Infra-Red (SWIR) Aft Optics Box (AOB).
This is a firm fixed price contract with a 26 month base period of performance. The total value of the contract is approximately $8.1 million.
The OCI is the primary instrument on the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) observatory and is being developed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The OCI is a hyper-spectral scanning radiometer designed to measure spectral radiances from the ultraviolet to short wave infra-red to enable advanced ocean color and heritage cloud and aerosol particle science.
