WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA has selected Jacobs Technology, Inc., of Tullahoma, Tenn., to provide core support services at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., in the areas of institutional and research operations, maintenance and engineering.

The contract will be a hybrid contract consisting of a component for sustaining services and an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) component. The core component will be Cost-Plus-Award-Fee (CPAF) and the IDIQ component will be a mix of firm-fixed-price (FFP) and CPAF. The contract has a performance period, including options, of 10 years. Contract phase-in begins Nov. 1. The total contract value is approximately $742 million.
This is a follow-on contract to the Research Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, or ROME, contract that will be essential for the center to effectively implement its 20-year revitalization plan. The selected contractor will provide research facilities operations; central utilities operations; technology development/administration; research and institutional maintenance; and facility engineering.
