HOUSTON, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On May 2, at 6 p.m. EDT, NASA astronaut Michael Foreman will be the guest speaker at the second annual One Book, One Michiana event hosted by the St. Joseph County Public Library in South Bend, Ind.

One Book, One Michiana is a six-week reading initiative that encourages the South Bend area to read one book and participate in activities related to the book's theme. To coincide with this year's book, "Rocket Boys: A Memoir," Foreman will give a presentation about NASA and his two space shuttle missions to the International Space Station. The presentation will take place in the Humphrey's Multimedia Room of the St. Joseph County Public Library, 304 South Main St., in South Bend. Foreman's presentation is free and open to the public. Media are welcome to attend.
Foreman also will give presentations at Kennedy Primary Academy and Clay High School. The school presentations are closed to the public and media.
A native of Wadsworth, Ohio, Foreman was selected to join the astronaut corps in 1998. A veteran of two spaceflights, Foreman flew on STS-123 in March 2008 and STS-129 in November 2009. He has logged more than 637 hours in space, including 32 hours and 19 minutes during five spacewalks.
