HOUSTON, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA astronaut and educator Dorothy "Dottie" Metcalf-Lindenburger will meet with East Hartford-Glastonbury Elementary school students in cyberspace during a virtual appearance on Wednesday, May 9.

The live streaming video appearance will begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT with East Hartford-Glastonbury Elementary, located at 305 May Road, East Hartford, Conn. The event is open to the media. Speaking from NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Metcalf-Lindenburger will share information from her spaceflight mission aboard the space shuttle Discovery's STS-131 mission, and take questions from students about their microgravity projects.
A former Earth science and astronomy teacher, Metcalf-Lindenburger was selected by NASA in May 2004. She completed Astronaut Candidate Training in February 2006. In April 2010, she served as a mission specialist on STS-131 and logged over 362 hours in space.
