CHICAGO, Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Benedictine University's Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in a career field or personal endeavor, was recently presented to Rich Grimley.
Grimley is the president and CEO of Chicago-based Rexam Beverage Can North America (BCNA), a $2 billion per year revenue sector of London-based Rexam PLC. Rexam is one of the largest beverage can manufacturers in the world serving the largest and most recognizable beverage brands. Rich is also responsible for the company's global manufacturing network, made up of more than 55 manufacturing plants.
Grimley joined Rexam in 2001 as vice president of manufacturing after working for leading organizations such as National Can, American National Can, Reynolds Metals and Ball Corporation in various operations and leadership roles. He was also a principal owner of Bev-Pak Inc., a beverage can manufacturer.
He serves on the board of trustees for the Museum of Science and Industry and Big Shoulders, a charitable organization with a mission of providing support to Catholic schools in the neediest areas of Chicago. He also leads Rexam's charitable endeavors with such groups as Naperville Responds For Our Veterans, United Way and the Ronald McDonald House.
Raised in the Chicago suburbs, Grimley is a 1980 graduate of the University of Iowa and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Benedictine University in 1984. Grimley and his wife, Diane, live in Naperville and have three children who live in the area.
