Nano Dimension Signs Agreement for Marketing and Distribution of Unique Epoxy Material with AVCO Chemicals
NESS ZIONA, Israel, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Israeli technology company Nano Dimension (TASE: NNDM, OTC: NNDMY) announced Monday that Nano Dimension Technologies, a fully owned subsidiary of Nano Dimension, has signed a marketing and distribution agreement with AVCO Chemicals. The agreement grants AVCO the ability to distribute one of Nano Dimension's unique materials – a one-part Epoxy made of several components. The material provides mechanical strength, adhesiveness and high thermal resistance. The agreement will not involve any new costs or expenditures for Nano Dimension.
The formulation of the Epoxy remains liquid at lower temperatures, yet at higher temperatures becomes a solid, hardens and is so durable that it is hard to distort or scratch. The transparency and opacity of the material can also be altered.
Beyond distribution, the agreement also includes the rights to manufacture and develop additional commercial applications using the material. The applications to be targeted under this agreement exclude Nano Dimension's core focus on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
AVCO Chemicals, founded in 1973, is an established company in the chemicals sector and has subsidiaries and manufacturing facilities in several countries around the world. The company produces chemicals and polymers for several industries, including textile, leather, mining, printing inks, and more.
Amit Dror, Nano Dimension's Chief Executive Officer, commented, "As we embark on collaborations with industry partners during our beta phase to evaluate 3D electronics printing, we continue to investigate additional markets and opportunities based upon our existing IP and materials know-how. We see added value in the fact that this new material, developed in our laboratories in Ness Ziona, can also be used and distributed for other varied applications."
Last week, Nano Dimension Technologies announced evaluation cooperation with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to evaluate advanced three-dimensional printing of electronics. Nano Dimension's unique 3D printer for electronic circuits (PCBs) has the potential to revolutionize the development process and, ultimately, the manufacture of advanced electronic circuits.
About Nano Dimension
Nano Dimension was founded in 2012 and focuses on the research and development of advanced 3D electronics printing, including a printer for printing PCBs (printed circuit boards), and the development of nanotechnology- based ink products, which are complementary products for 3D printers. The company was established by four seasoned entrepreneurs, Sharon Fima, Amit Dror, Simon Fried and Dagi Ben-Noon, whose backgrounds are in world-class digital print companies and technology companies.
Nano Dimension uses a unique, novel technology which combines three technologies: inkjet, 3D printing and advanced nanotechnology, enabling the use of conductive ink for printing the conductors on PCBs. By integrating innovative, groundbreaking technologies, Nano Dimension is developing a unique and innovative 3D printer, which is capable of printing multi-layer PCBs, and supplies conductive nano-inks to other fields in the electronics market.
