Nancy Johnston-Bellard is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional
BERKELEY, Calif., Oct, 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nancy Johnston-Bellard is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Municipal Services as a result of her role as a Retired Risk Manager with the city of San Francisco.
For over twenty-five years, Nancy worked in the field of Risk Management, helping to minimize risks for high-profile companies and public entities. Over the course of her career, Nancy was a vital asset to city government, specializing in Risk Management for San Francisco, with a focus on municipal services. Her responsibilities included the coordination of insurance purchases, communication, advisement in workers' compensation cases, development of city contracts, management of strategic planning, Risk Management analysis, and strategic organization of city-wide programs and insurance matters.
With the field of Risk Management newly emerging as Nancy began her professional career, she knew that this profession was a perfect match for her. Nancy never judged people she worked with and knew that it was her job to listen to others and come up with effective and efficient solutions. In this manner, she also recognized times when she knew she needed to step aside and direct a client or co-worker elsewhere. She strived to always do the best she could to benefit both the public and the employer, and attributes her success to the guidance of many superintendents and staff members along the way. Nancy's passion for working with the public allowed for her continual success in Risk Management. Despite being a private and reserved person, Nancy is always willing to share information and has displayed her vast knowledge to the public on the several occasions she was invited to speak at workshops.
Throughout her illustrious career, Nancy found many aspects of her profession to be rewarding. She took pride in the independence she was given to look at problems, formulate solutions, and select the most effective resolution for an organization. A prime example of one of Nancy's most rewarding experiences was a time she was called into a school district that had opened up their arena for claims to people who were married to the same sex. In this position, she had to work out a solution for the first domestic partnership benefits in the country.
Prior to joining the city of San Francisco, Nancy held Risk Management positions with with Alameda County, the City of Berkeley, California, Berkeley Unified School District, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, and the City of Hayward. Furthermore, Nancy is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and enjoys traveling and going for walks with friends in her free time.
When it comes to her educational background and training, Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of San Francisco.
