Lockheed Martin Corporation Research Reports
On August 19, 2014, Lockheed Martin Corporation (Lockheed) introduced its advanced maritime test bed to demonstrate how technologies such as data fusion and predictive analytics can be used to share intelligence quickly and securely - even in limited bandwidth naval settings. In its latest demonstration, Lockheed used test bed to illustrate how the Navy could get a comprehensive picture of the battlespace by fusion of simulated Aegis radar data with other integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensor data. The test bed collected, analyzed and processed the data, before distributing to simulated platforms at sea and on shore. "The maritime test bed provides a cost effective, risk reduction platform that can be used for realistic testing to demonstrate what is possible - with the end goal of providing real-time, decision-quality intelligence for the Navy," said Dr. Rob Smith, Vice President of C4ISR for Lockheed's Information Systems and Global Solutions. Raytheon Co. Research Reports
On August 18, 2014, Raytheon Co. (Raytheon) announced the receipt of a decision in the arbitration between Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL, also known as Raytheon UK) and the United Kingdom Home Office with respect to the eBorders program. The Arbitration Tribunal awarded c.£185 million ($309 million) as damages and other monetary relief to RSL, after finding that the United Kingdom Home Office had unlawfully terminated RSL for default in 2010 and therefore had repudiated the eBorders contract. Raytheon said that the Tribunal denied all Home Office claims for damages and clawback of previous payments. According to the Company, the Tribunal also found that the Home Office had wrongfully retained the £50 million ($83 million) it had drawn on RSL letters of credit in April 2011, and has reserved ruling on costs and on the quantification of interest payable to RSL.
