NACD Member and Affiliate Companies Achieve On-Site Verification

ARLINGTON, Va., April 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) is pleased to announce that more than 119 Regular member and Chemical Handler Affiliate companies' sites have successfully passed NACD's 4th-cycle on-site Responsible Distribution Verifications since July 2010. These organizations continually demonstrate their commitment to the implementation of its Responsible Distribution's environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) requirements.

Successfully demonstrating, through on-site verifications, implementation of EHS&S policies and procedures under Responsible Distribution's Code of Management Practice to an independent third-party verifier has been a condition of membership in NACD since 1997. In the third cycle, operationally-based EHS&S issues applicable to the site being verified were added to Responsible Distribution. These on-site verifications are required once every 36 months. The current verification cycle commenced July 2010 and it is expected that at least 130 additional companies will pass during the cycle.
