Nabil Chehade, MD, Named President and Executive Medical Director of Ohio Permanente Medical Group
CLEVELAND, Nov. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente Ohio announced today that Nabil Chehade, MD, MSBS, has been named the next president and executive medical director of the Ohio Permanente Medical Group, the exclusive physician network for Kaiser Permanente members.
Dr. Chehade's new role begins Jan. 1, 2013, when he will lead more than 200 health care clinicians and professionals who work for OPMG in 15 Kaiser Permanente medical offices in northeast Ohio. For the past 15 years, Ronald Copeland, MD, FACS, served as OPMG president and executive medical director. Starting in January, Dr. Copeland will assume the role of Kaiser Permanente's senior vice president of diversity strategy and policy in Oakland, Calif.

Previously, Dr. Chehade has held several leadership positions within Kaiser Permanente, including assistant medical director of Medical Specialties and Imaging Services, chief medical informatics officer, lead physician for Coding and Documentation, and chief of Urology within OPMG. Dr. Chehade is an active member of the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, the American Urological Association and the North Central Section of the American Urological Association.
Recently, Kaiser Permanente Ohio was recognized nationally and rated best in Ohio for its high quality, care and service by several independent organizations. Dr. Chehade, a Broadview Heights resident, received his medical degree and completed a residency in urology at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He also received a master's degree in biomedical studies with a major in pathology at the Medical College of Toledo, and recently graduated from the Harvard Business School. Dr. Chehade is board certified in urology and a certified professional coder.
