MyTopo Releases Terrain Navigator Pro 9.1
Updated Mapping Software Features Multi-Year Library of Topographical Maps and Aerial Photos
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MyTopo, a Trimble Company (NASDAQ: TRMB), today released Terrain Navigator Pro 9.1. The new version of the popular mapping software provides a complete multi-year library of topographic maps and aerial photographs as well as up-to-date road and street networks.
Professionals, from foresters to realtors to search-and-rescue teams and scientists, can now view multiple editions of aerial photographs, dating from 2003 to the most current, and topographical maps, including the original United States Geological Survey (USGS) topographic maps and more than 14,000 topo maps enhanced and updated by MyTopo.
"We are excited to bring an expanding library of historical and current topo and aerial imagery to mapping professionals," said Kevin Toohill, general manager of MyTopo. "As more imagery becomes available, Terrain Navigator Pro's library will continue to expand. The shelves have been built and we will continue to fill them, providing our customers access to the newest maps and photos, as well as the option to choose from an entire digital library of previously released editions. As of today, Terrain Navigator Pro will have at least two editions of aerial photos for each state in the Lower 48."
The new imagery library will help researchers analyze and record changes due to fires, floods, droughts and development projects. Shape file data, geo-tagged photos, field notes, and GPS tracks and waypoints can be imported and overlaid into Terrain Navigator Pro to further record change.
In addition, Terrain Navigator Pro 9.1 allows users to create professional maps with advanced print and publishing capability, and to seamlessly link any map location to driving directions, weather reports, time zone information and aggregated content from sites such as Flickr.com, Geocaching.com and TrimbleOutdoors.com. Users can also order waterproof or banner-sized professionally-printed maps using MyTopo's print-on-demand service.
For a complete list of updated features in the new 9.1 version, visit www.mytopo.com. The 9.1 release will be available at no additional fee to all current Terrain Navigator Pro users with a current maintenance/aerial imagery subscription. Customers with expired subscription plans can upgrade from version 8 for $99 per state and older versions for $179 per state.
