'Myths and Messaging of School Choice' Event to Debunk Myths about Education
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., Jan. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- What is the state of education in Illinois? How much choice do parents have? State Rep. Tom Morrison will answer these questions at "The Myths and Messaging of School Choice" event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Christian Liberty Academy.
After Rep. Morrison's briefing on the state of education choice in Illinois, the event will feature a presentation that will debunk myths about school choice and share tactics for effectively dialoguing with other parents and community members about the benefits of choice.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
"Students deserve a more effective school system and parents want, and deserve, more choice in their children's education," said Lennie Jarratt, project manager at The Heartland Institute. "We look forward to coming together for an honest discussion of school choice and how we can increase educational freedom in Illinois."
This event is sponsored by The Heartland Institute, a national nonprofit research and education organization, in partnership with Americans for Prosperity and the Illinois Conservative Union.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From January 20 through 26, 2019, more than 40,000 independently-planned events will be held in celebration of the Week. For more information, visit www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
