Mystik Lubricants - The Official Lubricant Sponsor for Iron Dog(R) 2010
Mystik Lubricants offer unparalleled performance in extreme winter conditions
HOUSTON, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year in a row, Mystik Lubricants is the official lubricant sponsor of the 27th Annual Iron Dog® event in Alaska. The off-road snowmobile race, starting Feb. 19, 2010, stretches 1,971 miles and is the longest and toughest off-road race in the world.
During the 9-day event, racers can face temperatures ranging from minus 20 to minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit, putting their snowmobile's core parts to the ultimate test. As the best cold weather lubricant on the market, Mystik provides Iron Dog® competitors with the best protection for any sled.
Mystik® JT-4® Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile Engine Oil and Mystik® JT-6® Lo-Temp Extreme Grease will be provided complimentary to all Iron Dog® 2010 race participants.
Mystik® JT-4® Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile Engine Oil has been designed to meet the demanding performance needs of today's snowmobile racers. In addition to superior cold temperature wear protection and quick start up, this unique combination of synthetic base oils and additives also provides excellent engine cleanliness, and rust and corrosion protection.
Mystik® JT-6® Lo Temp-Extreme Grease, a low to medium temperature range multi-purpose grease for bearings and grease lubricated chassis applications, offers optimal performance in extreme cold temperatures where minimum friction is necessary and where high speeds are evolved – making it an ideal fit for Iron Dog®.
"The Iron Dog® event is the perfect opportunity for Mystik to showcase the extreme capabilities of its top performance synthetic engine oil and grease," said Janet Jordan, Mystik brand manager. "We are very fortunate to not only be a platinum sponsor of this world class event, but to also have two Mystik teams competing in Iron Dog® 2010."
Roughly 35 to 40 Pro-Class racing teams are expected to participate in Iron Dog® 2010. Mystik Lubricants is the proud sponsor of two professional snowmobile racing teams including team #16 of Nick Olstad and Todd Minnick, and team #22 of Scott Davis and Todd Palin. Last year, Olstad and Minnick were the 2009 Tesoro Iron Dog® Champions, and Scott Davis and Todd Palin held the Iron Dog® title in 2007. The teams will compete again this year for the Iron Dog® 2010 title and a purse of $100,000 minimum.
Minnick, member of team #16, knows first-hand how imperative it is that his team uses only the best engine oil and grease on the market during the demanding Iron Dog® event. "After six years of racing the Iron Dog®, we switched to Mystik Oil last year and the 2009 Iron Dog® was the coldest and most brutal weather conditions one could imagine," said Minnick. "Not only did we win, we broke the record and now Mystik owns that record. Mystik is Iron Dog® Tough. Thank you Mystik Oil."
As a platinum sponsor of Iron Dog® 2010, Mystik Lubricants will provide 500 safety bibs for staff and volunteers, promotional banners, Mystik decals for all Iron Dog® racers' snowmobiles, and Mystik synthetic engine oil and grease to all participants.
