Mylan Launches Generic Version of Caduet® Tablets
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mylan Inc. (Nasdaq: MYL) today announced that its subsidiary Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has launched Amlodipine Besylate and Atorvastatin Calcium Tablets, 2.5 mg/10 mg, 2.5 mg/20 mg, 2.5 mg/40 mg, 5 mg/10 mg, 5 mg/20 mg, 5 mg/40 mg, 5 mg/80 mg, 10 mg/10 mg, 10 mg/20 mg, 10 mg/40 mg and 10 mg/80 mg, the generic version of Pfizer's Caduet® Tablets, which are used in the treatment of hypertension.
Caduet Tablets had U.S. sales of approximately $339 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2011, according to IMS Health. Mylan has started shipping this product.
Currently, Mylan has 163 ANDAs pending FDA approval representing $98.9 billion in annual sales, according to IMS Health. Forty-three of these pending ANDAs are potential first-to-file opportunities, representing $26.9 billion in annual brand sales, for the 12 months ending June 30, 2011, according to IMS Health.
