SAO PAULO, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly a year after the manifestations throughout Brazil and 50 years after the Military Revolution, Brazilians have on their hands a digital platform that offers citizenship power: MyFunCity. Awarded by the United Nations (UN), the app is available for smartphones (Android and iOS) or via web and is powered by the feelings and priorities of each Brazilian citizen. Citizenship is on Brazilian hands.
The concept of the platform is that the user can evaluate the city where he is. MyFunCity gives voice to Brazilian citizen so he can opine on twelve aspects of the city: Personal Life, Streets & Roads, Cost of Life, Noise, Health, Mayor, Urban Cleaning, Public Transport, Education, Security, Leisure and Town Hall. Each user has the freedom to give one own opinion and to input a grade for each item in different localities of the city, as many times as the user wants. From the sum of these opinions, the application draws a precise map of what really matters for the citizen.
To extend the power of action on the application, MyFunCity established a partnership with Sao Paulo City Council, which is the largest in Latin America.
Until the release date, the application has been over 6000 downloads on smartphones. This reinforces the interest of the citizen opinions and discusses the problems of their city. "We brought the Brazilian population an innovative digital platform that is a channel to communicate with the public order. As for city managers, it is a tool to monitor the feelings of citizens and anticipate problems and crises, working on the most critical issues in the opinion of the citizens themselves, "explained Mauro Motoryn, director and founder of MyFunCity.
"We believe MyFunCity digital platform will increase the contact of Sao Paulo citizens with Sao Paulo City Council representatives" says the President of Sao Paulo City Council, Jose Americo.
In addition to inform the opinion about their city, users can also find in MyFunCity news about the main themes of public management handled by the application. The citizen voice is again enlarged and the government is alerted to take action.
