MyAssetTag.com Supports Transportation Alternatives' Bike Home from Work Party
MyAssetTag.com Donates 43 Signs to Bike to Work Participants
NEW YORK, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MyAssetTag.com supports Transportation Alternatives' Bike Home from Work Party for a second time by donating signs to identify vendors and sponsors at the event. The Bike Home from Work Party starts at 6:30pm on May 16 under the Manhattan Bridge Archway in DUMBO. The party caps off a week-long challenge where companies compete to see whose employees have logged the most bike-to-work miles.
MyAssetTag.com's 43 custom-made signs celebrate the event with a commemorative cartoon and "Bike Home from Work Party" in text. Brooklyn Roasting Company has last year's sign hanging in its Jay Street location. The signs will be presented as gifts to the sponsors and vendors who make the event possible.
This year, over 600 workplaces signed up for the bike to work challenge. Transportation Alternatives will collect data about riders by actively logging trips and the number of calories they burn.
"MyAssetTag.com loves supporting New York City's biking community," said Katelyn Gray, director of MyAssetTag.com's BikeGuard project. "This week we're supporting Transportation Alternatives' Bike to Work Challenge, and on Saturday we'll support Bike New York's Roosevelt Island Kickoff Party. The BikeGuard program has finally arrived home in the Big Apple."
The party features pop-up shops and a showcase of bikes, accessories and commuter apparel. Timbuk2 provides a free bike valet service, and Citi Bike offers additional parking. Party-goers will enjoy local food vendors and Brooklyn Brewery Beer.
"Bike to Work Day, the Bike to Work Challenge, and the Bike Home from Work Party all help New Yorkers realize that commuting by bike is not just possible -- it's also fun," says Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives. "Once you take part in Bike to Work Week, you're never the same. Participants come away from the experience not only with well-toned legs, but also with a new outlook on commuting, and new ideas about how New York City's streets can improve to better serve all users."
The Bike to Work Challenge Party welcomes support from 43 different vendors. Presenting sponsors Spinlister and Maimonides Medical Center are joined by Timbuk2, Giro, Dumbo Improvement District, Law Office of Vaccaro & White, Percolate, CitiBike, Rack&Go, Chrome, NYCeWheels, Brooklyn Roasting Company, good eggs, VitaCoco, Monkfruit in the Raw, Warner Music Group, nau, Kind, Detroit Bikes, REI, and RedBeard.
