HICKSVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Charlie Belcher from TV's My Fox Tampa Bay visited Sam Ash Music with his video crew to shoot a few segments featuring the store and its Music School and Performance Center. The host of the My Fox's Good Day toured the 40,000 square foot Sam Ash store, interviewed store manager Randy Rumore, and spoke about the vast selection of musical instruments on display. It was clear that Charlie was in awe of the different sales departments as he shot footage of the guitar and drum departments. Charlie went on to say that it's a good time of year to fulfill that New Year's resolution to do something new, such as learning to play an instrument. To make his point, Charlie proceeded to the store's Music School and Performance Center where he interviewed Corey Rubin, the school's Lesson Coordinator. Corey spoke about the music program, emphasizing the one-on-one lessons and the school's desire to teach students what they really want to learn.
Charlie was fascinated with the instrument that is currently taking the nation by store: the ukulele! Touting the "uke" as affordable, easy to learn, and fun to play, he was then treated to a ukulele performance by two of Sam Ash's instructors: Steve Boisen and his daughter Amanda. Filling out the trio was Big Jim. Steve, who founded the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society, now 366 members strong, played the Kala U-Bass, a great addition to the ukulele family of instruments.
To sum it all up, the Good Day host was thoroughly impressed with the Clearwater Sam Ash Music store, the music lesson program, and the whole vibe of the store and its people. He promised to return, maybe to learn an instrument himself!
