My Canada Payday Expands to Nova Scotia
My Canada Payday is pleased to announce the opening of their new office in Nova Scotia as well as their successful acquisition of a new payday lending license
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- My Canada Payday has recently opened an office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia just across the water from Halifax. The payday loans licensing process was successfully completed on March 14, 2013. This marks the fourth province in which My Canada Payday is licensed to offer payday loans.
Following the success of their payday loan operations in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario, My Canada Payday (http://www.mycanadapayday.com) has expanded its coverage to include the province of Nova Scotia. Online payday loans have been allowed in Nova Scotia under the Payday Lenders Regulations and Consumer Protection Act since May 1, 2012. While internet lending is still relatively new in the province, the licensing of brick and mortar lenders has been in effect since August 1, 2009. In addition to offering online loans, My Canada Payday has also opened a branch office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to provide customer support and act as a liaison with the regulatory agencies.
In addition to the relatively favourable licensing conditions in the province, there are a number of other attractive aspects to maintaining a physical presence in the province. The timezone is among the earliest in Canada, which allows the staff to provide early morning coverage to the rest of the country while the headquarters in Surrey, BC is on the opposite coast. The Nova Scotia government has been offering substantial tax breaks to bring in call centers from around the world particularly in the financial industry. This has created a labour market that contains a large number of skilled workers who are ideally suited for the payday loan industry. My Canada Payday is pleased to provide employment opportunities to Nova Scotians in addition to reasonably priced and fast access to short term credit. A number of job opportunities will be opening in the Nova Scotia office over the coming months for qualified applicants.
Nova Scotia is the most recent province to be covered by My Canada Payday, but it is not expected to be the last. "I am confident that our efficiency and customer service will provide us with success in every marketplace we enter," stated Dale Evans, marketing director for My Canada Payday. During the first quarter of 2014 they expect to begin the licensing application process for Alberta, followed by the rest of Canada. The company hopes to be providing services to every licensable province in Canada by the end of 2015.
