Bernstein Brings Experience Serving in Senior-Level Posts in the White House Office of Public Engagement, United States Department of Homeland Security and the Office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg
NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW (www.mww.com), one of the top five independent public relations firms, announced today that Jarrod Bernstein has joined the firm's New York office as senior vice president, corporate affairs. A seasoned expert in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Bernstein joins MWW following senior level posts within the Obama Administration, United States Department of Homeland Security and the Office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In his new role at MWW, Bernstein will develop high-level corporate affairs strategy and guide stakeholder relations for clients across many of the firm's practice areas. Bernstein will report directly to MWW President and CEO Michael W. Kempner.

Bernstein is a former Obama Administration Counter Terrorism and Community Outreach Official. He has served as the Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and as Director of Jewish Outreach. Previously, Bernstein acted as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs for United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), coordinating the Departments' outreach to Mayors and Governors across the country. He also worked for the office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as the Deputy Commissioner of Community Affairs, responsible for community crisis management and outreach around mayoral programs.
Earlier in his career, Bernstein was the chief spokesman with the New York City Office of Emergency Management where he managed the citywide public information efforts around dozens of large scale emergencies. He was also responsible for writing New York's Emergency Public Information Plan, still in use today.
Bernstein earned his bachelors of arts in political science at John Hopkins University and Juris Doctor at Fordham University School of Law.
