EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the nation's top ten public relations firms, announced today that Kari Stoever has joined the company to lead its newly created corporate affairs practice, directing the firm's global corporate social responsibility division and establishing a new practice to lead multiplatform engagement initiatives. Stoever joins as senior vice president and practice leader with fifteen years of experience in global strategy, fundraising and leadership experience with non-profit, NGO's and government agencies.

Prior to joining MWW Group, Stoever was the president and founder of Meliora Global, LLC, a firm focused on growth strategies for nonprofits and social ventures, where she helped clients build multi-sector collaborative partnerships to achieve their local, regional or global goals. Prior to her role at Meliora, she helped establish and was the Managing Director of the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (Global Network), where she managed more than $37 million in grants by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Additionally, Stoever spent a year working for the Department of Defense at the United States Army Medical Research Institute for infectious diseases (USAMRIID) managing anthrax and other biodefense studies.
Also joining the Corporate Affairs team as vice president is Megan Torres. Torres comes to MWW Group with more than ten years of experience in corporate, nonprofit and government environments. Before joining MWW Group, Torres served as the policy advocacy specialist at UNICEF, where she was responsible for managing a portfolio of policy advocacy projects and providing support to the advocacy unit's ongoing work and coordination, particularly in the area of social and economic policy. Torres has also served as the director of communications at buildOn, a national nonprofit working to increase access to education and eliminate extreme poverty. Prior to buildOn she acted as a Manager of Media Relations at Casey Family Programs, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families.
