MWW Acquires Los Angeles-Based Enso Communications
Enso Founder and Former Edelman GM, JP Schuerman, to Become EVP and General Manager of MWW's Los Angeles Office
LOS ANGELES, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW (www.mww.com), one of the top ten global independent public relations firms, announced today it has acquired Enso Communications, a Los Angeles-based public relations and brand marketing firm. Enso founding partner JP Schuerman will join MWW as executive vice president and general manager of MWW's Los Angeles office.
"Schuerman and Enso Communications are the perfect fit for MWW to accelerate our growth in the Southern California market," said Michael W. Kempner, MWW president and chief executive officer. "JP brings a unique combination of management skills to MWW. By combining his background as a successful entrepreneur at Enso and as the leader of region's largest firm when he led Edelman's Los Angeles office, JP is the ideal leader to implement MWW's 'matter more' philosophy of client and employee engagement. JP and his team bring robust capabilities in consumer, corporate, and public affairs that will build on our already strong base in the market."
In addition, Schuerman will provide strategic counsel to several of the firm's most important clients nationally, as well as further MWW's relationships throughout the West Coast.
Spanning more than 18 years, Schuerman's career boasts high-profile experience in strategic planning, creative oversight, new media initiatives, brand positioning, integrated marketing, and product launches. Schuerman has developed and led award-winning strategies for regional and global brands including Johnny Rockets, Qualcomm, Dannon, Yahoo!, Neutrogena, ESPN, Nautica, Disney, Coors Brewing Company, Mattel and Google.
At the beginning of 2011, Schuerman founded Enso Communications and in fewer than 18 months, Enso was named Agency of Record for premier Southern California organizations, including University of Southern California, Triptrotting and Danhov – all of which will join the MWW roster of clients.
"MWW's independent and entrepreneurial culture is such a natural fit for Enso's team and clients," said JP Schuerman. "I am so pleased and honored to be taking on this new role."
Prior to joining Enso, Schuerman served as general manager and executive vice president at Edelman Los Angeles where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of client management, business development, finance, operations and human resources. He focused on developing LA-centric intellectual property and offerings to complement Edelman's global competitive offering, and oversaw senior strategy for global clients including Starbucks, Microsoft, Nestle, Warner Bros, Symantec and others.
Schuerman graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations, with honors, from Butler University.
