Mutual of America Announces 10 Recipients of 2013 Community Partnership Award

NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mutual of America announced the recipients of its 2013 Community Partnership Award, which annually honors the outstanding contributions that nonprofit organizations, in partnership with public, private and other social sector organizations, make to society.

This year's Governor Hugh L. Carey Award recipient, presented to the national award-winning program, is the Inside to Outside Initiative – Prison Puppy Raising Program, a groundbreaking partnership that pairs puppies with prisoners as a first step in preparing guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired.

The 2013 recipients, whose programs are delivering solutions to critical challenges facing our country such as cancer, homelessness, education and economic independence, include:
