Must See! Final Weeks! Three Of New York's Most Popular Exhibits At Discovery Times Square Are Closing
DEFINITIVE STAR WARS TRIBUTE, LEGENDARY BODY WORLDS AND VIKINGS ALL END SEPTEMBER 5TH
NEW YORK, Aug. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the summer draws to a close, three of the most popular exhibits ever at Discovery Times Square (226 West 44th St., between 7th/8th Avenues) are closing: Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume, Body Worlds and The Vikings Exhibition. Visitors have one last chance to see them all until Labor Day, Monday, September 5. Individual and group tickets are available now through closing.
STAR WARSTM AND THE POWER OF COSTUME
With 70 hand–crafted costumes from the first six blockbuster films and many sets and props, this Star Wars tribute reveals the artistic connection between character and costume -- from the menacing black mask of Darth Vader and the gilded suit of C-3PO, to the lavish royal gowns of Queen Amidala and the bikini worn by Princess Leia – plus seven more from the latest film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
BODY WORLDS
After a 12-year ground-breaking run in NYC, first at South Street Seaport then at Discovery Times Square, the iconic Body Worlds human anatomy exhibition is closing. The landmark exhibit explores the human body through a process called plastination, which uses real human bodies willingly donated to science. The New York Times called it "Extraordinary!" If you haven't seen it yet—now is the FINAL CHANCE to see the exhibit that will change the way you see yourself.
THE VIKINGS EXHIBITION
Featuring the largest collection of Viking artifacts ever assembled in North America, this exhibition explores the rich Viking culture with more than 500 treasures – some never seen outside of Scandinavia including a model of a Viking Ghost Ship, interactive activities and games, and Viking jewelry, metalwork, weaponry and religious iconography.
Discovery Times Square is open seven days a week. Adult tickets are $29.50 and discounts are available for children, students and seniors. Special savings for groups of 10 or more are available with advance reservation. Final entry to the exhibit is one hour prior to closing.
