Within hours, Helping Hand (USA) for Relief and Development (HHRD)* announced the "Muslims for Japan" Campaign.
HHRD local contacts have reported about the continuous aftershocks, which were no less than high magnitude earthquakes.
An estimated 10,000 people have died, several thousands are unaccounted for, and over 300,000 people have been displaced.
There are tides of bodies surfacing at the shore and the death toll is continuously rising.
Homes, roads, buildings and entire towns have been swept away.
There is a shortage of everything, from food, water and shelter to transportation.
HHRD is working in close coordination with the Islamic Circle of Japan's emergency response teams to supply food, medical assistance and basic necessities.
HHRD Teams have set 6 collection points across Tokyo and nearby cities of Gumma, Chiba, Gifu and Ibraki.
