"In just a short amount of time, you'll be able to stream all of Paper + Plastick Records original catalog for free in Grooveshark's innovative playback library. We love what Grooveshark does, providing a service for bands and labels to instantaneously make their music available to millions of people," said Vincent Fiorello, Owner of Paper + Plastick and member of Ska band Less Than Jake. "We love that they began locally in the Gainesville community, and that we have a similar ethos. The only thing we're sad about is that it took this long to partner up."
Along with Paper + Plastick, the list of new labels includes: Warrior Records, 1320 Records, Bang Gang Records, Duckhead Green, Palaver Records, Amplifi Digital, Accendo Media, Dox Records, and Eponymous Entertainment. In addition to promotion, the service adds these labels to its expansive list of labels receiving stream royalties.
"We are extremely excited to work with such diverse and unique content holders. These deals not only allow us to pay labels, but also help to expose artists to new fans around the world," said Thomas Sharp Maxwell, Grooveshark's Director of Music Licensing.
A case study conducted by Michael Fiebach, Founder and CEO at Fame House, LLC., following Grooveshark's recent partnership with Billy Van shows the power of the platform's promotional and artist services. While working closely with Grooveshark over a two month period, Billy Van gained over 140,000 YouTube views, over 10,000 clicks on Grooveshark's homepage, over 8,000 additional clicks through to http://billyvandubstep.com, and over 40,000 song streams.
