Music Services Partners With RightsFlow for Blanket Mechanical Licensing and Royalty Services
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Music Services, a publishing company administering the licensing and administration for over 100,000 copyrights has formed an alliance with RightsFlow. The blanket agreement provides RightsFlow access to Music Services' catalog, allowing identification and accounting for interactive streaming and limited downloads on any pending and future works to the compositions.
Considered a leader in the Christian music market, Music Services represents some of the largest Christian music publishers in the US. These include Vineyard Music, Maranatha Music and Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing to name a few.
"This is a very exciting partnership for us with RightsFlow," stated Phil Perkins, President of Music Services. "Over time the royalties attached to pending and unidentified compositions can accumulate to significant sums, and we appreciate RightsFlow's progressive licensing approach to ease our administrative workload while helping us collect mechanical royalties for interactive streaming activity from licensees that would have previously been uncollected."
"We are delighted to work with Music Services," stated Kim Gerlach, Director of Licensing at RightsFlow. "Considering Music Services' choice catalog, we believe this is the beginning of a fruitful business relationship that will benefit our clients by ensuring all outstanding royalties are accounted to by RightsFlow on their behalf."
Under U.S. Copyright Law, mechanical licenses are required for music to be distributed through online music services. Limited download and interactive streaming services generally pay a mechanical royalty of 10.5 percent of revenue, less amounts owed for performance royalties.
