Murphy-Goode Launches Contest To Honor The Hero In Your Life
Each month, winners will receive a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice
HEALDSBURG, Calif., Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Heroes come in all forms, from the decorated military veteran to the caring grandparent to the food bank volunteer. Murphy-Goode invites you to salute the hero in your life with the "A Few Goode Heroes" contest. Now through May, visit the Murphy-Goode Facebook page at facebook.com/MurphyGoodeWinery to nominate the person you feel best exemplifies altruism, leadership, self-sacrifice or positive influence. Each month, Murphy-Goode will choose a winner to receive a $1,000 donation to his or her favorite non-profit and make a matching gift to our charity partner, Operation Homefront, the national organization that provides emergency financial assistance to military families.
In June, Murphy-Goode will review the monthly winners and choose a grand prize winner to receive an exciting Fourth of July barbecue in his or her hometown, hosted by Murphy-Goode.
"A Few Goode Heroes is a fun way to thank a special person in your life and support a good cause," said David Ready, Jr., winemaker for Murphy-Goode. "My own personal hero was my dad, who inspired me to pursue winemaking. He also served in the military, so he was a hero for others as well."
Murphy-Goode has long sought to recognize heroes. Since Fall 2011, the winery has partnered with Operation Homefront to support military families in need. Murphy-Goode has donated more than $100,000 to the cause on behalf of the winery and its fans.
