Murphy-Goode Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Liar's Dice Tournament
HEALDSBURG, Calif., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Murphy-Goode Winery will commemorate its 25th anniversary with music by the "7 Zins," a barbeque, really "goode" wine, and its Second Annual Murphy-Goode Liar's Dice Tournament. The party—open to those 21 or over—takes place on Saturday, August 14, from 3-6 p.m. on the terrace of the Murphy-Goode tasting room at 20 Matheson Street.
The highlight of the afternoon will be the liar's dice tournament. Liar's dice, the namesake of one of Murphy-Goode's top zinfandels, has been an image of the brand, along with other social games of chance and skill. Originally, the winery founders played liar's dice at regular breakfast meetings with their zinfandel growers and from there decided to name one of their wines after the game.
Established by close friends, Tim Murphy, Dale Goode, and Tim Ready in 1985, Murphy-Goode was founded on the principles of friendship, hard work, a wicked sense of humor and of course, a good bottle of wine. Since 2006 Murphy-Goode's focus has expanded to include distinctive red wines, particularly Bordeaux blends and the winery's well-known zinfandels.
The winery is still family-oriented, with the Murphy family retaining its original vineyards and David Ready Jr. carrying on his father's legacy as the winemaker for Murphy-Goode.
The event is free to Wine Club members and $25 for friends and guests. Space is limited. Guests should RSVP by August 6 to Diane Bahno at 707-857-1515.
