STORY SUMMARY:
Trader Joe's, a unique, neighborhood grocery store with foods and beverages from the exotic to the basic, celebrated the opening of its first two Texas stores – one in Fort Worth and the other in The Woodlands.
To kick off the official opening, each Trader Joe's captain and their crew gathered for a ceremonial lei cutting and welcomed new customers – Trader Joe's style. The celebration continued throughout the day with live music, food demonstrations and raffles.
The Fort Worth store, located at 2701 South Hulen Street, is led by Captain Doug Campbell and is about 12,500 square feet. The store features a festive decor mixing traditional Trader Joe's cedar covered walls, Hawaiian-inspired elements combined with a local flare including art that celebrates the neighborhood. Throughout the grocery store there are several colorful hand painted murals that pay homage to The Historic Chisholm Trail, TCU, Trinity Park, Fort Worth's Skyline and more.
The Woodlands store is located at 10868 Kuykendahl Road (inside The Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center) and is approximately 13,500 square feet. It's led by Captain Josh Letto and features a similar decor with hand painted murals featuring Market Street, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Downtown Bridge and Fountain, Waterway Trolley and more.
Each store will sell wine and beer and will open from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, daily.
