The Script to be Featured in Major League Baseball Fan Cave Spot, Airing During the World Series
NEW YORK, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic Recording Artists The Script have again hit the top of the charts with a #1 single in England ("Hall of Fame" featuring will.i.am) and a #1 album in Ireland. Released overseas on September 10th, the Script's third album, #3, will be available in North America today, with an additional digital deluxe edition at iTunes and a special physical deluxe version at Best Buy.
After a handful of intimate must-see shows in London and Dublin, The Script once again hit American soil on October 5th, performing at Major League Baseball's Fan Cave in New York, where hundreds of fans turned up for an exhilarating show celebrating the launch of the Major League Baseball's postseason and wild card games. "Hall of Fame" – which Perez Hilton called an "inspirational and motivational anthem" – will be used in a television spot promoting the Fan Cave during the World Series, which launches October 24 on Fox.
The Script debuted "Hall of Fame" with a stirring performance on the Today Show during the London Olympics; they'll return to the Today Show stage this morning to perform the song live. Later this week, the band will appear on Live With Kelly and Michael (Oct. 10) and The Late Show with Jay Leno (Oct. 12); they'll perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on October 15. In addition, the song is currently featured in ads for NBC's primetime drama, Chicago Fire.
The Script – Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, and Glen Power -- released their eponymous debut album in 2008, and achieved worldwide success. The single "Breakeven," went to #1 on the US charts after a record-setting 36 week ascent, and the album went on to double-platinum sales. It was followed by Science and Faith in 2010, which debuted at #1 in the UK and Ireland. By then, The Script had become superstars at home – a three night stand at the 02 Arena in Dublin sold out in less than 40 minutes, with more than 60,000 tickets sold. (As of now, The Script have more than 1.1 million Twitter followers and nearly 4 million Facebook fans.)
Praised for their lush melodies and powerful anthems, which Rolling Stone called "at once soaring and melancholic," The Script have sold more than four million albums and nine million singles, and toured with U2 and Paul McCartney.
