The "2011 MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week" schedule is as follows:
Monday, May 30th:
Fright Night (Dreamworks) with appearances by Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Director Craig Gillespie
Film Summary: Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he's running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), doesn't notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
Tuesday, May 31st:
The Art of Getting By (Fox Searchlight) with appearances by Emma Roberts, Michael Angarano, Elizabeth Reaser and Director Gavin Wiesen
Film Summary: The Art of Getting By stars Freddie Highmore (Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as George, a lonely and fatalistic teen who's made it all the way to his senior year without ever having done a real day of work, who is befriended by Sally (Emma Roberts – Scream 4), a beautiful and complicated girl who recognizes in him a kindred spirit.
Wednesday, June 1st:
Horrible Bosses (New Line Cinema) with appearances by Cast Members and Director Seth Gordon
Film Summary: For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.
Thursday, June 2nd:
The Help (Dreamworks) with appearances by Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard
Film Summary: Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, "The Help" stars Emma Stone ("Easy A") as Skeeter, Academy Award®–nominated Viola Davis ("Doubt") as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny—three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed—even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times.
Friday, June 3rd:
30 Minutes or Less (Columbia Pictures) with appearances by Aziz Ansari, Michael Pena, director Ruben Fleischer, and a special message for fans from Jesse Eisenberg and Danny McBride
Film Summary: In the action-comedy 30 Minutes or Less, Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With only a few hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) from a screenplay by Michael Diliberti and the story is by Michael Diliberti & Matthew Sullivan.
