MTN Satellite Communications Appoints Joseph R. Wright, Innovative Industry Leader, as Chairman of the Board of Directors
MIRAMAR, Fla., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) the global provider of communications, connectivity and content services to remote locations around the world, announced today the appointment of Joseph R. Wright as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Wright served as Chairman of Intelsat, the world's leading provider of global satellite-based communications services from 2006 to 2008 and was President and CEO of PanAmSat, another satellite–based communications company focusing on broadcast and video distribution from 2001 to 2006. He is currently a Senior Advisor to Providence Equity Partners and Chart Capital Partners and recently retired as CEO of Scientific Games Corporation. Wright also served as Chairman of GRC International, a provider of advanced information technology, Internet and software services to Government and commercial customers.

Wright's distinguished record of public service includes senior Government positions, as well as numerous economic and scientific boards under Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. He was most recently appointed by Secretary Gates as a member of the Defense Business Board. In addition, President George W. Bush assigned Wright to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and the President's Commission on the United States Postal Service and President George H.W. Bush asked Wright to serve on the President's Export Council. Under President Reagan, he served as Director and Deputy Director of the Federal Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President and as a member of the Cabinet, and previously as Deputy Secretary of Commerce; as a result he was awarded the Distinguished Citizens Award by President Reagan. Earlier, under President Nixon, he served in senior economic and management positions in the Department of Commerce and Agriculture.
