CAMPBELL, Calif., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Nimsoft today announced that MTI, a specialist cloud infrastructure consultancy, has selected Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) as the foundation for MTI Care, a service that provides clients with comprehensive remote monitoring, alerting and analysis of their Vblock™-based cloud environments.
MTI manages public and private cloud IT infrastructures for clients, including Vblock™ Infrastructure Packages. Vblock is an initiative of VCE that integrates components from Cisco, EMC and VMware.
Nimsoft recently announced the addition of comprehensive monitoring for private cloud Vblock Infrastructure Packages to its unified monitoring architecture in September this year, enabling end-to-end performance and availability monitoring of network storage, compute and application layers. Through its partnership with Nimsoft, MTI places itself at the forefront of the Vblock industry initiative.
"By outsourcing infrastructure to MTI, businesses can substantially reduce capital expenses and shift allocation of IT resources from 'housekeeping' to strategic opportunities," said Aad Dekkers, Chief Marketing Officer at MTI. "With Nimsoft technology, we make this value proposition even more compelling by enabling clients to retain or even improve their visibility into the health of the infrastructure they outsource to us."
With a unified monitoring approach and an architecture that is ideal for cross-platform Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments, NMS will enable MTI to proactively monitor and address problems with client infrastructure and Vblock Infrastructure Packages before they impact the business. NMS delivers essential monitoring, event correlation and analysis capabilities not provided with standard Vblock Infrastructure Packages.
In addition to its support for Vblock, NMS was chosen by MTI for its modular architecture and customizable probes -- which allow MTI to respond to the specific requirements of diverse client infrastructures.
"The flexible, modular architecture of NMS is perfect for managed service providers like MTI that are embracing Vblock and must respond to diverse client needs and expectations," said Gary Read, Nimsoft CEO. "Nimsoft is dedicated to providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art monitoring solutions that fulfill the requirements of today's rapidly emerging cloud marketplace."
