MRIS Opens Doors of Homeownership to D.C. Area Residents
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS) supports real estate professionals and local nonprofit organizations in their efforts to put families into their own homes by participating in National Homeownership Month.
Real estate professionals are working hard every day to help create success stories of homeownership for thousands of people in the Greater Washington area. MRIS supports their efforts and partners with real estate professionals to help turn dreams into homes. Throughout the month of June, MRIS asked its agents and brokers to share stories that showcase their special role in homeownership. Gary Macdonald, a real estate agent with Realty Executives Premier in Burtonsville, MD, shared a story of a single mom who he assisted in the home buying process. After a series of missteps with agents and lenders, a client with location and budget constraints came to Mr. Macdonald to find a home for her and her daughter. "This was a single mother who just recently went through a divorce, was on a limited income and was trying to find a home in a certain area to allow her daughter to go to a high school with her current friends, rather than relocating to another area where her daughter would also have to start over," described Mr. Macdonald. "It's a touching story of patience, persistence, perseverance and love and one that I'll remember and share for many more years." Mr. Macdonald guided the client through the purchase of a bank-owned property, a process that can be complicated and overwhelming for many homebuyers on their own.
As part of its commitment to promoting homeownership across the Greater Washington area, MRIS provided a corporate donation to two local nonprofit organizations: Manna, Inc., of Washington, DC, and AHC, Inc., of Arlington, VA. Each of these organizations work locally to foster homeownership and are affiliates of a national nonprofit, Neighborworks America, which sponsors National Homeownership Month.
MRIS is pleased to support real estate professionals like Gary Macdonald and nonprofit organizations like Manna, Inc. and AHC Inc., for all they do to fulfill the dream of homeownership for many residents.
"The purchase of a home embodies the American ideal of success, and organizations like these make this dream a reality for many families and individuals," said John L. Heithaus, Chief Marketing Officer for MRIS. "Manna and AHC, Inc., share a common vision of fostering homeownership, and MRIS is honored to contribute to their efforts."
National Homeownership Month is sponsored by Neighborworks America, a national nonprofit organization providing financial support, technical assistance and training for community-based revitalization efforts.
