MRIGlobal Appoints Richard A. Winegar, Ph.D., as Principal Advisor for Science
Respected life scientist rejoins MRIGlobal to lead critical complex projects, provide global solutions with global impact
KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- MRIGlobal, an internationally recognized research and development organization with offices and projects throughout the U.S. and overseas, has appointed Richard A. Winegar, Ph.D., to Principal Advisor for Science.

Dr. Winegar is a recognized expert in microbial forensics with a background in radiation biology and genetic toxicology. As Principal Advisor for Science, he will serve as a key scientific resource for MRIGlobal. Dr. Winegar will be responsible for developing and providing technical leadership to programs in life sciences and national security. He previously served MRIGlobal from 1999 to 2008, directing a number of key programs in support of U.S. government biodefense initiatives.

Dr. Winegar holds a bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Florida Tech, and a Ph.D. in biomedical science from the University of Tennessee at Oak Ridge.
