LOS ANGELES, July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- David Cross and Bob Odenkirk have announced the upcoming September 10 release of their new book, entitled HOLLYWOOD SAID NO! Orphaned Film Scripts, Bastard Scenes, and Abandoned Darlings from the Creators of Mr. Show. In support of the book, the Emmy Award-winning creators and stars of Mr. Show with Bob and David will embark on a multi-city book-signing tour, as well as their first official stand-up comedy shows together since their sold-out national tour in 2002.
Tickets for the Live Nation promoted stand-up comedy tour go on-sale Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com
Written with friend and fellow Mr. Show alum, Brian Posehn, HOLLYWOOD SAID NO! is a collection of never-before-seen scripts, including full-length scripts for Bob and David Make a Movie (fleshed out with brand-new storyboards by acclaimed artist Mike Mitchell) and the satire, Hooray For America! The book also includes a section of "constructive" notes written by a "studio executive," a bonus section of orphaned sketch ideas from the Mr. Show days and beyond, as well as a section of reminiscences from Bob and David to add context and back story on what went right and what went wrong. For the first time ever, fans can take a peek at the scripts that didn't get the green light from Hollywood and ponder a world we can only dream about.
Bob, David and Brian will embark on a multi-city tour following a launch event at Brooklyn's powerHouse Arena. The tour will feature in-store book signings and accompanying stand-up comedy shows in theatres around the country. The tour kicks off September 12 at New York City's Town Hall.
