MouthWatch Invites Dental Hygienists To Be Teledentistry Changemakers at Annual ADHA Conference
NEW YORK, June 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- How will teledentistry be implemented to reach those in need, empower careers in dental hygiene and build all types of dental practices? MouthWatch, the creators of the award-winning MouthWatch Intraoral Camera and leading teledentistry platform TeleDent, will be at this year's annual ADHA conference in Jacksonville, Florida to share insights on those questions.
"Teledentistry-friendly laws are being passed at an increasing rate as state governments begin to realize they can no longer ignore the benefits that teledentistry provides. Now, we need to develop an awareness in the dental community that teledentistry is a real option, with real-life case studies and concrete models for how it works," explains Brant Herman, CEO of MouthWatch, LLC. "I hope everyone who attends the ADHA Conference will make it to the presentation by Michelle Noblet-Vacha on her experience with teledentistry in multiple senior care settings as one example of teledentistry making an impact."
Noblet-Vacha, RDH, BS is the founder and Executive Director of Senior Mobile Dental, a nonprofit that serves Arizona, Colorado and Minnesota and is looking to expand to other states. June 16th at the ADHA conference she will present, "Teledentistry and Addressing the State of Decay in Older Adults."
On her founding of Senior Mobile Dental, she shares:
"Throughout my years as a private practice hygienist, I observed the difficulty seniors faced in coming to the office for regular care. It was especially disheartening to see seniors who lived in care facilities struggle with performing daily oral hygiene. I realized it was much easier for me to go to them, and so I developed a program to do just that."
Regarding the role teledentistry will play in her practice and her motivation for speaking at the ADHA conference this year, she said, "Dental Hygienists will be key leaders to implement this new concept [teledentistry]. They have the education and experience to increase access to care to underserved populations."
MouthWatch will be at booth 231 at the ADHA conference where attendees are invited to meet, discuss and learn how TeleDent helps create new dental hygiene career opportunities, build relationships with patients in need of care and connect more effectively with providers—regardless of location.
As Mrs. Noblet-Vacha says to dental hygienists, "There is so much opportunity in our profession. If you have the vision and dedication, anything is possible."
