Mountain's Edge and Providence Still Rank Among Country's Best-Selling Master Plans and Best in Nevada
LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Southern Nevada master planned communities are again among the top communities in the United States. Mountain's Edge and Providence, both being developed by Las Vegas-based Focus Property Group, rank in the top 10 of the annual survey by RCLCO, the country's leading independent real estate advisory firm. They are the only master plans from Nevada to make the 2010 top-selling master plan list.
Mountain's Edge, a 3,500-acre master planned community in southwest Las Vegas, was certified as the No. 5 selling master planned community in the country in 2010. Providence, a 1,200-acre master plan in northwest Las Vegas, ranked No. 7.
"We are delighted to see Mountain's Edge and Providence, perennial performers in one of the toughest markets in the country, among the top 10," said Laura Cole, RCLCO vice president.
Last year, Mountain's Edge and Providence ranked No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. In fact, the five best-selling communities from 2009 maintained their order and were topped this year by two communities which hadn't participated in the RCLCO survey in years.
"Given the continued weak performance that Las Vegas is experiencing compared to the majority of the country, we're especially pleased with last year's top 10 national rankings for both Mountain's Edge and Providence," said John Ritter, chief executive officer of Focus Property Group.
Mountain's Edge and Providence have consistently ranked high since debuting on the RCLCO list. Mountain's Edge has placed in the top five for the past six years, and Providence has ranked in the top 10 for the past five years, with four of those years in the top five.
When fully developed, Mountain's Edge will have 14,500 residential development units; four elementary schools, two of which are already open; two middle schools; one high school; and several parks, with the second opening later this year. For information, visit www.mountainsedge.com.
Wide boulevards lined with hundreds of mature shade trees frame Providence, which will house 7,500 single and multi-family units. The community has miles of trail systems and will have two neighborhood parks, one opens later this year. For information, visit www.providencelv.com.
