Mount Sinai Health System and Valley Health System Announce Strategic Alliance
NEW YORK and RIDGEWOOD, N.J., Dec. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mount Sinai Health System and Valley Health System today announced plans to collaborate on clinical programs, research and educational initiatives. New York City-based Mount Sinai comprises seven hospitals and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Valley Health System, headquartered in Ridgewood, New Jersey, includes The Valley Hospital, Valley Home Care and Valley Medical Group.
While both organizations will remain independent, they will work together to:
- Enhance patient care by establishing new clinical programs and services;
- Participate in research initiatives to advance education and medical science;
- Establish clinical information system linkages that would enhance quality, continuity and evaluation of care;
- Identify opportunities for Valley physicians to obtain academic appointments at Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine;
- Recruit future doctors in accordance with new program development at Valley; and
- Participate in the development of a clinically integrated physician network for the delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient care.
