Mount Airy Casino Resort Announces Appointment of John Culetsu as Executive Vice President and General Manager
MOUNT POCONO, Pa., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Lisa DeNaples, owner and managing trustee of Mount Airy Casino Resort, has announced veteran Las Vegas casino executive John Culetsu has been named Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mount Airy Casino Resort.
Culetsu will take over the helm Tuesday, August 10, 2010. He spent the past 20 years managing The Crowne Plaza Hotel and most recently The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
On Friday, George Toth stepped down from his position as President and CEO of Mount Airy to pursue other career opportunities after successfully guiding Mount Airy Casino Resort through the debut of table games.
"George Toth brought a great deal of experience and knowledge of the gaming industry into his role as CEO. We thank him for leading us through the highly successful transformation of Mount Airy Casino Resort and we wish him continued success," said DeNaples.
Culetsu began his hospitality career in marketing for The Meridien Hotels in New York in 1982. In 1986, he headed west to Beverly Hills to oversee marketing for the L'Ermitage Hotel Group. He also spent time managing and marketing The Resorts International Casino Hotel in Atlantic City and The Utell International in Secaucus, N.J.
Culetsu received a degree in sales and marketing from the Centre de Formation De Perfectionnement Hotelier in Tour, France, and majored in business administration at California Coast University in Santa Ana. He also has a hotel management certificate from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
