Mother's Day Wish -- First Lady Obama, Please Help Save The Life of 9-year-old "Little Peace Ambassador," Ariana-Leilani
WASHINGTON, May 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- First Lady Michelle Obama, "Happy Mother's Day" to you and your mother, Ms. Marian Robinson from four generations of King Family Women. Our Mother's Day wish – Please help save 9-year-old "Little Peace Ambassador," Ariana-Leilani.
"You know, I think in the end our kids look up to us, first and foremost ..." Michelle Obama, April 2012
Ariana-Leilani is suffering silently waiting for "rescue" only minutes from your family's home at the White House. I told her to "believe in good and Angles," when fear and doubt takes over, and "no matter how hopeless it seems, one day you will be saved." She will live to tell her own story.
"We are our kids' first and best role models, and that's true for me. I mean, all the wonderful people I've met -- my mom is my rock. Her messages are ones that spin around in my head." Michelle Obama, April 2012
Ariana-Leilani has a very rare broken immune system, Severe Chronic Neutropenia (SCN). She is on the Severe Chronic Neutropenia International Registry (SCNIR); the life-saving medicine nupogen is free. The world expert, medicine founder, and Co-Director of the SCNIR, Prof. Dr. Karl Welte, said the longer Ariana-Leilani has untreated SCN, the more likely she is to die within hours from common infection. He wrote that to deny urgently needed free medicine, nupogen to Ariana-Leilani is active malpractice for both Dr. Scott Nigel Myers (MedStar Georgetown University Hospital) and her parent, Dr. Michael Herbert Pfeiffer (Veterans Affairs Hospital).
"All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won't do - that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be. That is the thread that connects our hearts." Michelle Obama, August 2008
So far, all has failed to help Ariana-Leilani get the free nupogen, a toxicology and expert medical care. As a mother, my greatest wish is to save Ariana-Leilani. There is no greater sadness than to watch your child slowly and needlessly move towards death.
"We all pretty much want the same thing ... The core of what we want for our kids and our communities, that's true regardless of race or political party." Michelle Obama, April 2012
Ariana-Leilani has shown love, courage, determination, tenacity, faith, integrity, belief in humanity, and an "audacity of hope" that has been an inspiration. I am her Mommy, her hero, a reflection of herself and who she can be. I must save her life.
"There's no way that I could ever fully measure all that my own mommy has done for me. This is my mommy." Michelle Obama, May 2010
Thank you First Lady Michelle Obama for our family's ultimate Mother's Day gift for many years to come, to "Save Ariana-Leilani."
