Mosaic Weighted Blankets Opens Online Fabric Shop

Mosaic Fabrics will offer various children and adult prints, hand dyed batik fabrics, solid colors, quilting cottons, 100% cotton plaids, homespuns, and Shannon minky. They will sell the fabric by the yard, half yard, fat quarter and fat eighths for all fabrics in the store.

Mosaic will be introducing various fabrics and discuss DIY, patterns and other sewing ideas and showcase some of their Mosaic Fabrics for quilting and other sewing projects.

Batiks are so beautiful and unique Mosaic Fabrics wants to share with you how they are made:

Batik originated in Indonesia, it's a process of wax-resistant dye applied to cotton whole cloth. Because the wax is applied before the day, it allows the batik artist to form patterns and soak the cloth with a color and rinse the fabric with boiling water and reapplying the process again to create unique patterns and to add other colors.

Batiks are great for crafting with color. You can make a dress, shirt or skirt, a purse, a great apron or even Christmas ornaments!

During COVID 19, we also have essential fabrics to sew facemasks for yourself and others.

How Mosaic Fabrics got started?

Mosaic Fabrics is located in the sunny hill country of Austin TX. Their founder, Laura LeMond started a weighted blanket company in 2012. They are still selling weighted blankets, but since they have so many seamstresses that like sewing and crafting, they decided to sell some of the great fabrics they have in stock, including colorful batiks, great plaids, American homespuns, quilting cottons, children prints and Shannon minky fabric.

Our fabrics include cotton prints, batiks, quilting cotton, Shannon minky, solids, cotton plaids, and homespun cottons.

Mosaic carries a variety of fabric designers, including Robert Kaufman, Riley Blake, Shannon Fabrics and other designers as well.
