Morrison Utility Services wins award from Computer Weekly for SaaS field service management initiative with TOA Technologies
The U.K.'s leading utility service provider won in the category of "Cloud Innovation" for realizing significant savings from more optimized routing using TOA's ETAdirect solution
LONDON and CLEVELAND, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The topic of enterprise cloud software delivery continues to be widely discussed – "what parts of the business does it make sense for?" and "what is the difference between private and public cloud?" are common questions. This ongoing conversation made "Cloud Innovation" a very relevant category for this year's European User Awards for Enterprise Software, presented by Computer Weekly magazine. This year's Cloud Innovation winner proves that traditional companies large and small are seeking, and finding, the benefits of the cloud. Morrison Utility Services (MUS), U.K.'s leading utility service provider, won the Cloud Innovation award for a successful overhaul of how it manages its reinstatement services group, powered by the SaaS field service management application suite, ETAdirect from TOA Technologies.
The annual Computer Weekly European User Awards for Enterprise Software, presented by Computer Weekly magazine, recognize the innovative use of technology to make tangible change within organizations. At the ceremony, held on June 17 at Cloud World Forum in London, MUS was recognized for how it reimagined its field operations to more effectively route and schedule for reinstatement activities, and successfully uses ETAdirect as the SaaS field service management supporting the project. According to the coverage of the award ceremony, MUS has generated annual results including:
- £76,000 in savings by reducing the time agents and dispatchers spend scheduling and assigning work manually
- 15 percent reduction in travel time
- Fuel cost savings of approximately £2,288 per field team
MUS also continues to extend its use of TOA's SaaS solution. It recently deployed ETAdirect to its excavation and cable-laying teams, supporting a newly awarded power contract.
