Morrison & Foerster Launches @MoFoWomen Twitter Feed
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to highlight the important work, accomplishments and pursuits of the firm's talented women, Morrison & Foerster has launched a new Twitter feed, @MoFoWomen. The feed will also focus on the promotion of women in law and business, as well as showcase women's initiatives and programs at the firm.
"The MoFoWomen Twitter feed is our latest project to ensure MoFo remains top of mind for women in the legal and business communities," said Mika Mayer, co-chair of the firm's Women's Initiatives Committee (WIC). "It is a way to increase our communication with clients, alumni, recruits, thought leaders and colleagues, and highlight current WIC activities and events. Our first major social media campaign will be using @MoFoWomen in April to live-tweet the third annual MoFo Summit for Women In-House Counsel, a substantive legal conference hosted by MoFo women lawyers."
The feed will also be an opportunity to showcase the leadership and successes of Morrison & Foerster's women. For instance, this year alone, women comprised 50 percent of the firm's new partner class, Los Angeles partner Miriam Vogel was inducted into the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and San Francisco partner Alison Tucher was appointed to a Superior Court judgeship by California Governor Jerry Brown.
"The firm counts among its ranks many of the most talented women in the legal profession – litigators, patent lawyers, dealmakers, leaders in privacy, clean tech, financial services, life sciences and many other areas redefining our corporate landscape," said Anna Erickson White firmwide managing partner. "We want to celebrate our women's achievements and social media is a dynamic space to do so. We hope @MoFoWomen will enhance our efforts to attract and develop a pipeline of successful women lawyers at all levels."
Above all else, the firm strives to create a work environment that allows its women lawyers to excel. Morrison & Foerster was the first ever law firm to receive the prestigious Catalyst Award presented annually to corporations and professional firms that demonstrate a commitment to the leadership development of women employees. For three consecutive years, the firm has received gold standard certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum in recognition of the integration of women into top leadership roles. The firm's women are consistently singled out as practice leaders at the Chambers USA Women in Law Awards and Euromoney's Americas Women in Business Law Awards. And year after year, they rank among the Daily Journal's top 100 women lawyers in California, Global Competition Review's top 100 women in antitrust law, San Francisco Business Times' most influential women in Bay Area business, Silicon Valley Business Journal's women of influence and The Recorder's women leaders in tech law.
