Morris Technologies to Exhibit at 2012 RAPID
Also conducting a session on using additive manufacturing to create medical parts
CINCINNATI, May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Morris Technologies, Inc. (MTI) will be exhibiting at the upcoming RAPID 2012 Conference and Exposition. RAPID, which is presented by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, takes place May 22 - 24, 2012 in Atlanta, GA. The conference is focused on additive manufacturing and serves as an outlet for educating about developments in the additive manufacturing industry.
Morris Technologies will be exhibiting at booth 107. On display will be several sample metal parts that were grown using either direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) or electron beam melting (EBM) technology. The samples will demonstrate MTI's expertise in using additive manufacturing to produce components with complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible to create through casting and machining. Photos of parts can also be viewed at the Morris Technologies website at www.morristech.com.
MTI will be exhibiting adjacent to EOS's booth. EOS developed the direct metal laser sintering technology and manufactures and distributes the DMLS machines. With one EBM and 20 DMLS machines, Morris Technologies is the global leader in additive metal manufacturing and offers more alloy options than any other provider. MTI services a variety of industries, including aerospace, medical, automotive, and others.
In addition to participating in the expo, MTI's Chuck Hansford, VP of Morris Medical, will be conducting a session on "Designing Porous Structures on Medical Components Using Additive Metal" on Wednesday, May 23 at 3:30 p.m.
